Thurday 15th : Jones et Martinez rois d'Europe (by Agustin Arguelles).
Great closure today for the European Laser Master Championships 2017 in Fouesnant, France, where all 163 Laser Master sailors enjoyed the last two rounds of event, completing all ten races scheduled
STANDARD– Final results :

Master sailor Carlos Martinez ESP (2-2-2-3-1-2-1-4-58) rounded great performance today and ratified Overall and Master’s championship titles in the Laser Standard fleet, although scoring a disappointing 5-8 in the end! 
Dutch sailor Rik Wolters NED (1-15-1-7-7-3-2-1-12-30) seemed to be relaxed also today! ;)) marking a 12-30 but good enough to round a great tournament, achieving Overall Vice-championship and Grand Master’s title. Third place overall was finally for Grand Master sailor Alan Davis GBR (BFD23-4-2-3-19-10-13-7-1) recovering from a bad start and closing competition in great shape winning the last race.
Leandro Rosado ESP (19-5-10-16-6-33-12-7-4-5) could finally hold first place and secured Apprentice’striumph, ending 4th overall.
Great Grand Master title was for Wolfgang Gerz GER (24-17-12-8-8-12-3-2-17-9), finishing 5th overall.
Tim Law GBR, Bertrand Blanchet FRA, Wouter Duetz NED, Roger Schulz GER and Cedir Canas ESP completed Top 10 classification.
RADIAL – Final results :
Finally British sailors rounded a great performance in the Laser Radial fleet, achieving all first 4 places overall. Master sailor Ian Jones GBR (4-2-1-14-1-17-5-1-2-12) was 2017 absolute winner with 28 points. Vice-championship and Grand Master championship prizes for Steve Cockerill GBR (3-5-3-21-3-2-12-2-10-2) with 30. Third overall and Apprentice’s first place title for Jon Emmett GBR (1-1-7-4-7-4-15-13-3-6) with 33. Fourth overall and Master’s 2nd place for Ian Gregory GBR (10-4-6-26-9-5-1-18-1-1), marking a perfect score today and finishing draw in 37 points with Alessio Marinelli ITA, finally 5th Overall and 3rd Master.
Monica Azon ESP (9-12-2-9-2-7-2-6-BFD-11) closed event in 6th place overall with 48 units and crowned Women’s absolute champion.
Grand Masters Michiel Pals NED, Gilles Coadou FRA, Rob Cage GBR and Jeff Loosemore AUS completed Top 10 occupying places 7th to 10th respectively.
Mike Kinnear GBR is new Great Grand Master‘s champion, finishing 22nd overall, and just one place behind him on place 23 our great Laser class Legend Peter Seidenberg USA.
Thurday 15th : Last day
2 races are scheduled today to complete the original program (10 races). Meteo forecast predict west wind 12Nds.
Wednesday 14th - Great day

After a great sunshine in the afternoon all Master sailors waited for 2 pm to allow the thermal breeze to settle in the bay.
STANDARD
Master sailor Carlos Martinez ESP (2-2-2-3-1-2-1-4) repeated a great performance today and secured Overall and Master’s championships in the Laser Standard fleet, discarding a 4th place and counting now just 13 points after 8 races. 9 units behind him is Rik Wolters NED (1-15-1-7-7-3-2-1) who’s also showing a wonderful consistency and secured Grand Master’s championship. Third place overall is now for amazing Great Grand Master sailor Wolfgang Gerz GER (24-17-12-8-8-12-3-2) with 62 points, remembering us Laser class passion is never ending!
Apprentice category shows fierce competition with Leandro Rosado ESP (19-5-10-16-6-33-12-7) now holding first place with 75 points and surpassing previous leader Cedric Canas ESP (18-29-3-6-2-16-19-17) for just 6 units. Close to them is also Goustan Joret FRA with 91.
Just 9 points separates now the first 5 sailors on top of competition. Provisional leader is now Master sailor Ian Jones GBR (4-2-1-14-1-17-5-1) with 28 units. Grand Master sailor Steve Cockerill GBR (3-5-3-21-3-2-12-2) is second with 30. Third place overall for Alessio Marinelli ITA (35 pt – 2nd Master).
37 points for Apprentice’s leader Jon Emmett GBR (1-1-7-4-7-4-15-13) and Women’s leader Monica Azon ESP (3rd Master), ranked fourth and fifth overall respectively.
Mike Kinnear GBR (154 pt – 16th overall) is heading now Great Grand Master‘s fleet. Peter Seidenberg USA (213 pt – 29th overall) continued to lead and secured Legend’s trophy.
Wednesday 14th - Noon
Great sunshine this afternoon.
The first departures will be given at 2pm to allow the thermal breeze to settle in the bay.
Tuesday 13th - Third day of races

Tricky weather conditions couldn’t stop the Laser Masters action on water and 2 new races were added to competition.
STANDARD
Great day again for Master sailor Carlos Martinez ESP (2-2-2-3-1-2), consolidating his overall leadership in the Laser Standard fleet, now counting 9 points, followed 10 points behind by Grand Master Rik Wolters NED (1-15-1-7-7-3). Third place for Grand Master Wouter Duetz NED (8-6-6-4-5-17) with 29 units.
Apprentice fleet continues to be led by Cedric Canas ESP (18-29-3-6-2-16) with 45 units and ranked 5th overall.
Great Grand Master competition is headed now by Wolfgang Gerz GER (24-17-12-8-8-12) with 57 points and 10th overall.
RADIAL
British sailors continues to dominate Radial’s provisional podium, now led by Grand Master sailor Steve Cockerill GBR (3-5-3-21-3-2) with 16 ponts, followed just 1 point behind by previous overall leader and Apprentice sailor Jon Emmett GBR (1-1-7-4-7-4). Third place overall for Master sailor Ian Jones GBR (4-2-1-14-1-17) with 22 units.
Fourth and fifth overall are Italian Alessio Marinelli ITA (24 pt – 2nd Master) and Spanish Monica Azon ESP (29 pt – 1st Women and 3rd Master)
Michael Pridham GBR (102 pt – 18th overall) and Peter Seidenberg USA (185 pt – 35th overall) continues to be provisional Great Grand Master and Legend leaders.

We had luck today. Standard and Radial second races of the day are now ending.
Tuesday 13th -
Mid-championship
Weather conditions may be tricky today. The race committee maintains the competitors ashore until 13h which means no starting race before 14h, at best.
More annoying, the weather does not announce any stable conditions until Thursday.

Monday 12th
- Second day of races - Eurilca report (by Agustin Arguelles)
After a long day afloat due to light winds, sailors returned ashore at 18:30. The wind felt after the 4th Standard race, but the Radial could not terminate. The committee was forced to shorten course and despite that, half of the Radial fleet was out of time (20 minutes).
STANDARD
After 4 races it is Master sailor Carlos Martinez ESP (2-2-2-3) who’s leading Laser Standard fleet overall with 6 points, followed by Grand Masters Rik Wolters NED (1-15-1-7), Wouter Duetz NED (8-6-6-4) and Peter Vesella USA (5-7-8-15), with 9, 16 and 20 points respectively.
Apprentice fleet is led by Cedric Canas ESP (18-29-3-6) with 27 units and ranked 5th overall.
Great Grand Master competition is headed by Michael Nissen GER (3-19-9-19) with 31 points and 9th overall.
RADIAL
British sailors continues to dominate Radial Masters competition, fulfilling provisional podium. Apprentice sailor Jon Emmett GBR (1-1-7-4) is absolute leader with 6 points, closely followed by Master sailor Ian Jones GBR (4-2-1-14) and Grand Master Steve Cockerill GBR (3-5-3-21), with 7 and 11 units respectively.
Fourth to sixth overall are Italian Alessio Marinelli ITA (19 pt – 2nd Master), French Gilles Coadou FRA (20 pt – 2nd Grand Master) and Spanish Monica Azon ESP (20 pt – Women 1st)
Michael Pridham GBR (62 pt – 17th overall) and Peter Seidenberg USA (80 pt – 28th overall) are provisional Great Grand Master and Legend leaders.
Sunday 11th - a long day afloat The 163 competitors gone afloat around noon to join the racing area in front of Beg Meil. The south wind, very irregular in strength and direction, gave a lot of work to the race committee which repositioned several times the legs.
Some competitors stayed up to 7 hours before finishing the 2 long races and were visibly tired after this first tiring day.
Today's results already show the favorites including John EMMET (GBR) who wins the 2 Laser Radial races of the day.
Monday, the northwesterly wind is expected to be lower. 2 races are scheduled for Standard and Radial fleets starting at 1pm.
Sunday 11th - 5:30 pm
The second Laser Standard race ends. Radial in progress. First return ashore planned from 5:40 pm.
The wind remains oriented to the west 10 / 12Nds but is shifty.

163 competitors of 17 nationalities are gathered in Fouesnant for this championship.
Courses start today at 1PM with 2 consecutive starts for the 68 Laser Standard and the 95 Laser Radial.
